Students from Odessа Polytechnic National University (PB3) will study the discipline “Environmental monitoring” with the section “Peculiarities of marine environment monitoring”.

Within the in implementation of Work package T2 "Development of the training program", by the decisions of the Academic council of Odessа Polytechnic National University , environmental training course was included in the curriculum and introduced into the educational process of the university.

According to the D.T2.3.1 "Environmental training courses in Schools, Universities and NGO's activity" of the project "Establishment of Learning Network for the consolidation effort of joint environmental control and monitoring in the Black sea Basin 2 (acronym LeNetEco2)” of the Activity A.T2.3 "Implementation of environmental training courses" were done this curriculums change.

With the Decision of the meeting of the Department of Environmental Safety and Hydraulics (protocol No. 5 dated 12/25/2022) the educational program "Environmental safety" under direction 101 ‒ "Ecology" will be supplemented in the educational program and, accordingly, the curricula of 2023 with an educational component (section "professional selective disciplines") with the new discipline “Monitoring and protection of the marine environment”.

Despite the difficulties that arose during the implementation of the project - the military aggression of the Russian Federation on the territory of Ukraine, PB3 conducted on December 2022 online trainings for 2 target groups - 1. Pupils of schools. 2. Youth (students and other youth)., the materials used by the experts during the trainings were included in the study materials of the new courses.

The materials used by the experts during the trainings were included in the educational materials of the new educational components under the 2023 admission plan, as well as in the updated programs for the specialty "Environmental safety" under the direction 101 ‒ "Ecology".
